DECORATIVE STYLE

SEPTEMBER 2016

'This Autumn season's newest trend reinvents a decorative style without the need for flowers. Smart tailored and exquisitely drawn and painted".
Tricia Guild.

This week we look in closer detail at our Delahaye design: The inspiration for this design was taken from the stunning marbled endpapers that were used in exquisite leather bound books, that botanists used to record their findings from far flung areas of the world. Available in fantastic colourways; printed on soft, scoured linen for a quintessential vintage look for the fabric design and printed on heavyweight non woven grounds for ease of hanging as a wallpaper.

This design plays an integral part in our Autumn collections, it offers an alternative to florals but still providing a decorative element. We offer a range of colour ways to suit all tastes, whether it is a pop of emerald green or fuchsia to a muted grey for subtleness. As it has a number of tones within the design, the eye glides over it with ease and evokes a sense of diversity within the room, rather than one solid colour. Delahaye is very versatile and it doesn’t have to dominate, it can also be used in conjunction with other subjects such as flora, fauna, geometrics etc- view it as an auxiliary design that can be used in various areas of the home, from the hallway and sitting room to the bedroom or bathroom.

If not wanting to use florals in the home, Delahaye is a great alternative but still providing an interesting and modern element to the interior.
