As a woman in business what advice would you offer to women starting out?

"Make sure you are completely passionate about your business idea - to run a business well it has to be an absolute passion and priority in life. If you only feel so-so about doing something, my advice is not to do it!"

What well-being wisdom can you offer to our readers during such an unsettling year?

"Paying special attention to getting a good night’s sleep needs to be more of a priority than ever now. Make sure you establish a good ‘sleep routine’ by limiting screen time a few hours before bed, getting to bed at the same time each night (routine is important) – they say that every hour before midnight is worth two after! Minimise distractions by making sure your room is dark (cover any annoying LED lights with black tape or switch off, use blackout blinds behind bedroom curtains), try silicone earplugs for sleep and add a few drops of neat lavender essential oil to your pillow – these simple hints can all work to improve sleep duration and quality."

Do you have a mantra that you live by?

"Look after your good gut bugs and they will look after you. I top mine up with multi-strain probiotics and drink a small glass of kefir daily."

Do you have any helpful tips for readers who are juggling many aspects of their life, all under one roof?

"Try and have a separate work space so you can shut the door and leave it behind – no bedroom laptops! Don’t forget to move a bit more – we may not be walking to the bus or tube, so getting outdoors at regular intervals is important too. Keep stretching the neck and shoulders, and remember the 20-20-20 rule when working on a screen: Every twenty minutes look up and focus on something twenty feet away for twenty seconds, really good to help prevent eyestrain from all those emails and Zoom calls…"

Do you have any particular rituals that you carry out each day?

"First thing in the morning I use a copper tongue scraper to get rid of the furry build-up of bad bacteria that build up on the tongue overnight."

Liz Earle - Wellbeing brand founder.

Working from home has become the new normal and many of us find ourselves conducting our working life from the dining/kitchen table or the spare room. As a result, it can be harder to leave the working day behind, so try clearing your work space and putting laptops and work papers away at the end of each day.

Top tip:

Make a conscious decision to reclaim the space for home life – a simple vase of flowers or a scented candle works wonders and reinstates a semblance of work/life balance.
