Floral ice cubes

JUNE 2018

What better way to preserve summers most beautiful florals than in ice and displaying them in a delicious cooling drink. This simple but effective recipe will make you the envy at a summer party!

- Boil distilled water and let cool completely.

- Fill the bottom third of each ice cube square or sphere with water. Set a flower into each cube. Freeze until firm.

- Remove the silicone tray from the freezer and pour a little more water on top, about another third of the way up. Gently push the flower down if it floats. Put the tray back in the freezer until firm.

- Simply pop out a few cubes or spheres the next time you pour a cold drink!

Use distilled water that has been boiled and then cooled. This limits impurities and air bubbles, which make ice cloudy.

Use only edible flowers, such as nasturtiums, pansies, cornflowers, dianthus & wild garlic that have been grown to be eaten and ensure they haven't been treated with chemicals.
