TRICIA GUILD'S CHRISTMAS STYLE GUIDE

"For me, part of the joy of Christmas, is setting the scene for family and friends. Whether you prefer casual or formal, minimal or maximalist, monochromatic or colourful – it's the smallest of details that make a big impact. I like to have masses of beautiful flowers and candles and I might use emerald green and magenta tones with dark elegant shades of black and berry. It is these layers of detail that add richness and joy, bringing life to the space.” Tricia Guild."

"I like to give cushions, gorgeous textured throws or even pure linen bed linen – people always seem to need those things and I love finding exactly the right shade or pattern for the right person."

"Placing those little finishing touches in the guest bedroom will make the everyday extra special…"

"I love to mix different styles together when it comes to decorating, so I’ll pair vintage style decorations with hanging foliage and gorgeous floral garlands with fabric offcuts. I like to hang delicate baubles and beautiful pieces of fabric from a large elegant branch too, which I find is perfect for hallways, where you want to decorate but perhaps there is limited space – creating little still lifes like this, all around the house, is something that I love to do at Christmas."

"I’ve always said it's the personal little details that make your home what it is and I apply the same thought to my Christmas table. I like to use our pure linen Lario placemats and napkins and a table runner in complementing colours, accessorised with the most exquisite crackers, unique decorations and ceramics. In the end, the look feels very layered and contemporary."
