The Campaign for Wool has appointed Arabella McNie as the curator. She has over twenty years’ experience of working as a stylist and designer in the world of interiors.

As well as exhibiting at Stockholm Furniture fair we also opened our official showroom in Stockholm. Over 100 guests arrived to see the new showroom among them were Stockholm’s key journalists from publications such as Sköna Hem, Elle Interiör, Allt I Hemmet and Gods & Godår. How would you describe the style of the interior furniture and furnishings you have chosen? ‘Naturally, I have used Designers Guild thoughout the home, but in a very different way to our London home. I have used a different palette and the fabrics and furnishings focus more on linen, soft cotton and translucent violes. The style is relaxed; I would call it ‘modern country’ Tricia Guild.

­We are delighted to introduce our new collections for Spring 2013.

Inspired by a moment in time that was London and New York in the 1920s the mood is one of optimism. A new frivolity and sparkling glamour that feels intoxicating, as characterised by F Scott Fitzgerald and his novel the Great Gatsby.

­

It is from this vivid setting that the spring collections draw their inspiration. The colour palette in entirely new-muted yet lively, soft, chalky tones of cloud, blossom, jade and mauve ar­e accented with charcoal and indigo on pure sparkling white to herald a new mood.

 

As well as our stunning new prints for Spring we have fabulous Contarini wallcoverings, Padua weaves, a stunning tie-dye linen as well as a new DG Unlimited collection, ten new models of furniture, a new Contracts collection as well as fantastic accessories for the Spring season.

Following on from the success of the second fabric & wallpaper collection ‘Air de Paris’, as well as previous accessories collections, Carnet Andalous (Spring 2013) sees the continuation of the Lacroix journey and takes us to the heart of Al-Andalus, a land of exchange, culture and fusion.

With an eclectic mix of digital prints, cut velvets, woven jacquards and silk stripes this collection is filled with a dynamic approach and is testament to Christian Lacroix Maison.

William’s Astasia & Monsoreto collections for Spring are a continuation of his travels from previous collections of Exmere & Manton. A collection rich with textural and natural qualities, with designs inspired by a passion for preserving the artisan culture of weave.

 

Beautiful ikat style and block printed concepts combined with several substantial weaves in patterns from abstract checks to refined practical stripes all in array of organic feels from jute to tumbled linen.

Designers Guild welcomed visitors to their biggest ever stand at Maison et Objet in Paris this January.

Customers were presented with all the new Spring 2013 collections, fabulous new furniture and the full range of home accessories. Highlights included our Savine fabric with its unique tie-dye process that was featured heavily throughout the stand in gorgeous fuchsia, jade and grape tones, aswell as our stunning Padua ombre fabric- continuing the theme of our dip-dye signature Saraille fabric from Spring 2012.

The Seraphina collection with it’s new chalky palette was very well received too as was our new models of furniture.

The ELLE DECO International Design Awards (EDIDA), is an annual award ceremony where the Editors of the 25 international magazines gather to recognise the top talents in categories such as lighting, fabric, and young designer of the year. Tent London is one of the largest design trade shows taking place during the London Design Festival each September. PAVONIA: This season's printed fabrics are inspired by the bohemian artists and avant garde designers who sought to re-discover beauty as part of the Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century. The new designs capture that attention to detail, brilliance of colour and passion for nature so recognisable in the works of the Pre- Raphaelite painters, and bring with it a sense of modernity that has a reformed masculine, tailored edge. These prestigious awards are voted for by editors of the 25 different Elle Decoration titles around the world making the awards a global barometer of what is at the cutting edge of great design. The award was presented at a party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Elle Decoration International Design Awards. Brother and sister team Tricia Guild and Simon Jeffreys have doubled the size of their
company in the past five years and are looking for similar levels of growth as part of a
five-year business plan.

This brand had an equity that we think can make it much more than a fabric and wallpaper

Legendary "Mitsukoshi" is the oldest and most renowned department store in Japan

and this month Designers Guild collections are displayed beautifully throughout

the store, alongside the very best of fashion, food and more from the UK - all in order

to celebrate their British Design Fair.

Darly Wallpaper Collection, has been awarded Best Wallpaper in the

Homes and Gardens Fabric Awards 2009.

The panel of judges included Kit Kemp, Suzanne Sharp, Deborah Barker and

Kate French and their comments on this design were:

Following a very successful exhibition at the New York Gift Fair this August,

Designers Guild is delighted to announce the launch of its finished products

wholesale business in the US.

Sales team will be out on the roads from the 1st of September offering the full

Designers Guild lifestyle to trade - from cushions, blanket and rugs to bedlinen,

bath and fragrant home range.

In recognition of the amount of paper waste created by offices within the UK,

Designers Guild has sent out its first green newsletter and press pack.

Tides and Times is a celebration of the River Thames. It explores the historical, ecological,

geographical and social elements that make the river so special and such an iconic image

of London and aims to encourage young people and the general public to engage with

the River that runs through the heart of the city, re-discovering the institutions

along its banks. 

BBC 21CC has united 15 primary schools and 17 of the key attractions along the River

Thames path, from Kew Bridge Steam Museum in the west to the Thames Barrier in the

east, working with them to create multimedia content - animations, films, podcasts and

radio dramas, in response to facilitated workshops at the attractions.

Working in partnership with RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) London,

BBC 21CC has united a further 4 primary schools, 4 architects practices and 3

Thameside institutions to design 3 audiovisual pods to house the content, as well as a

walking route to connect the pods.

Designers Guild is delighted to support this exciting project and has donated paint

from its extensive range, to give the multimedia pod at Somerset House a fresh and

innovative backdrop for the visual multimedia installations.

For the second year running, Designers Guild is delighted to have been awarded a place

on the Sunday Times Pricewaterhouse Coopers profit track 100 League Table of Britain's

private companies with the fastest growing profits over the last 3 years.

Designers Guild launches 20 collections a year from showrooms in London, Paris and

Munich, and in September 2008 launched the new brand, the Royal Collection, inspired by

the Royal Palaces. In the same year, founder Tricia Guild was awarded an OBE for services

to interior design. Guilds brother, chief executive Simon Jeffreys, runs the company, and

the duo have overseen profit growth of 49% a year from £1.7m (2005) to £5.6m in 2008

A success since it's launch, the Freshest Digital Awards aims to recognise effectiveness, creativity and innovation on-line.

Designers Guild was delighted to host a party at the British Ambassadors residence

in Paris. This was to launch the Royal Collection of fabric and wallpapers by

Designers Guild.

The event was a great success and over 600 people enjoyed champagne and

canaps. Tricia Guild and Simon Jeffreys gave speeches as did the British Ambassador

Sir Peter Westmacott.

 

Designers Guild is honoured to announce the worldwide launch of an exclusive

range of fabrics and wallcoverings directly inspired by the magnificent furnishings

in the Royal Residences of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

This is the first licensing arrangement of this kind that the Royal Collection has

undertaken, Designers Guild is therefore delighted to present this inaugural collection

of jacquard woven silk damasks, embroidered silks, silk velvets, sumptuous jacquard

velvets and wonderful flock printed and surface printed wallpapers.

Queen Elizabeth II formally presented Tricia Guild with the OBE at a ceremony at

Buckingham Palace today.

Tricia was delighted to receive this most prestigious award for services to interior design.
