Designers Guild is delighted and proud to announce His Royal Highness, The Prince Andrew, Duke of York, KG officially opened the Shanghai showroom on Monday 24th October.

We are honoured that His Royal Highness took time out of his busy schedule to visit us in person. The Shanghai showroom opened seven weeks ago and houses the full range of fabrics, wallcoverings, home accessories and furnishings by Designers Guild and the brands which we produce and manufacture including The Royal Collection Fabrics and Wallpapers and Christian Lacroix.

The Designers Guild distribution in China is efficiently handled by Yada Tissu and the owner and Managing Director Jian Wang personally welcomed His Royal Highness to the showroom.

Designers Guild has been distributed in China for just over three years and this market is one of the fastest growing of our operating territories. in the last few years Yada Tissu have been licensed by Designers Guild to produce bedlinen for all Asian markets, which has proved to be highly successful.

Tricia Guild in Russia

Tricia Guild presented the latest collections and met with customers and press at two very special events in Russia - at the British Consulate in St Petersburg and at Stakan (www.stakan.me) in Moscow.

Designers Guild are delighted to host an exhibition in June of works by selected MA students from the Glass and Ceramics department of the Royal College of Art.

In January, students were given the theme of "home" as a starting point for a two term project, the results of which were judged by Tricia Guild with the selected works being exhibited and sold through the Kings Road Homestore.

Designers Guild is delighted to have been awarded the first prize in the 'Department Store Buyers Award' for Interior Fabrics in Japan.

The Designers Guild Munich showroom enjoyed a very successful Munich Design Week and finished the week with record sales.

As Well as presenting the new spring collections, customers were treated to a visit from William Yeoward, who was in town to present his stunning new collection Polperro, whilst meeting with customers and members of the press.

Over 150 people attended the V&A's special event with Tricia Guild and Michelle Ogundehin (Editor of British Elle Decoration) at the museum's Hochauser Auditorium on Tuesday 15th March. 

The evening took the form of a conversation between Michelle and Tricia, with images from "A Certain Style", Tricia's latest book, providing a constantly changing backdrop.

It was a fascinating insight into how the company started, and how it works today. Tricia was also delighted to answer questions from the floor and to personally sign books for the many visitors who decided to buy a copy.

 

The Designers Guild flagship homestore was delighted to welcome over 100 Telegraph readers to a special evening on Thgursday 17th march.

Triica gave a presentation of her latest book and discussed her work and views on design.

Afterwards, guests enjoyed light refreshments and a private shopping experience at the newly re-developed Homestore.

In Brazil, presentations of the new collections were held at the Emporio Beraldin showrooms in Sao Paulo and Rio with over 100 customers and press attending the event.

In Mexico we were delighted to welcome over 200 customers, architects and designers to the Mexico City Showroom. Presentations ran over three days and were all very well received.

A successful five days as the new collections were launched at Maison et Objet in Paris. Designers Guild had a record amount of visitors to the fantastic stand over 5 days and an outstanding response to the new collections.

Brother and sister team Tricia Guild and Simon Jeffreys have doubled the size of their
company in the past five years and are looking for similar levels of growth as part of a
five-year business plan.

‘This brand had an equity that we think can make it much more than a fabric and wallpaper
business’ says Jeffreys. ‘Everything in our Kings and Marylebone High Street stores in
London we can wholesale worldwide and we will use flagship retail stores to promote the
brand overseas, in Paris for example. At the moment bed and bath products account for 6.5
per cent of our business, but we think there is a huge amount of growth potential’.

Designers Guild welcomed visitors to their biggest ever stand at Maison et Objet in Paris this January.

Sales were are at a record high and customers were presented with all the new spring 2010 collections,

fabulous new furniture and the full range of home accessories whilst enjoying champagne on the stand.

Tricia Guild was delighted to attend the Elle Decoration British Design Awards 2009.

Tricia presented the award for Design of the Year, as chosen by a public vote,

for the Heavy desk lamp for Decode London by one of Britain's most promising

rising stars Benjamin Hubert.

Designers Guild is pleased to announce the use of its designs in the newly renovated

Radisson Blu Hotel in Hamburg, Germany.

Designed by Swedish architect Christian Lundwall, it is the city's largest hotel and a very

contemporary and luxurious space.

and this month Designers Guild collections are displayed beautifully throughout

Tides and Times is a celebration of the River Thames. It explores the historical, ecological,

geographical and social elements that make the river so special and such an iconic image

of London and aims to encourage young people and the general public to engage with

the River that runs through the heart of the city, re-discovering the institutions

along its banks. 

BBC 21CC has united 15 primary schools and 17 of the key attractions along the River

Thames path, from Kew Bridge Steam Museum in the west to the Thames Barrier in the

east, working with them to create multimedia content - animations, films, podcasts and

radio dramas, in response to facilitated workshops at the attractions.

Working in partnership with RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) London,

BBC 21CC has united a further 4 primary schools, 4 architects practices and 3

Thameside institutions to design 3 audiovisual pods to house the content, as well as a

walking route to connect the pods.

from its extensive range, to give the multimedia pod at Somerset House a fresh and

innovative backdrop for the visual multimedia installations.

on the Sunday Times Pricewaterhouse Coopers profit track 100 League Table of Britain's

private companies with the fastest growing profits over the last 3 years.

Designers Guild was delighted to host a party at the British Ambassadors residence

in Paris. This was to launch the Royal Collection of fabric and wallpapers by

Designers Guild.

The event was a great success and over 600 people enjoyed champagne and

canapés. Tricia Guild and Simon Jeffreys gave speeches as did the British Ambassador

Buckingham Palace today.
